    16x8 Wheels fit on 1989 E30?

Looking to buy some new wheels and I ran across a set but they are 16x8. And I already have tires for my new wheels (whatever they might be) And they are 205/55/16. Could I run this set up?

Depending on the offset and bolt pattern of the wheel sure. Its gonna be stretched, but not crazy stretched.

You should read the wheel/tire section. There is even a thread for Wheel/Tire Fitment.

But yes you won't have any issues

            Aren't 205/55 a bit big? In circumference

That's what I'm running now they're just fine. They're just a little tall. I just didn't know if I could run a 8" wide wheel on my car.

People run 17x10 on their cars in the rear... 16x8 will fit just fine but your tires might be too tall. I had 16x8s before but i used 205/40r16 tires.. right now i have 16x9 in the rear with 215/40s on and it clears everything with no problems

Depends on the offset. Depends also what you consider fitting. Some consider wheels that poke out two inches to fit.

I wanted to run a 17" wheel but the problem with that is the tires I can get for 17's are 225/50/17 and I was told there is no way in hell I could run those. I get free tires from my work, so whatever wheels I get, I try and get them so I can run the free tire sizes.

And I consider fitting as in I can drive my car daily over bumps and I can turn corners and not rub.

im running 17x10 =] and fits just perfect after it rubbed out the sides of tires that you cant even read what kind of tire that is..
i used to run 16x9 215/40, but it depends how low your car going to sit? coils?

Haha nice! I wish I had coils, but right now I'm running bilstein 2" lowering springs currently.

I run 16x8 et10 with 225/45s. No rubbing in the front at all and just a slight bit of rubbing in the rear on hard lefts. But I think that's more a function of the soft rear springs(H&Rsports) and dilapidated subframe/control arm bushings than wheel fitment.
