    WTB: S52 swap

    Hey all,
I've decided to swap my '87 for an S52. Looking for low mileage, <75K preferable. Would love to get the entire package in one go. You know, engine, harness, trans, DME, any of the other crap that's necessary. I'd also love to get a screaming deal (wouldn't we all?), but willing to pay for the right package.
Any leads on cars being parted would be appreciated, too.
    Thanks
    S52-Powered 1987

There's a complete S50 on here for $2500 (a damn good deal, if I do say so myself.) I would go that route rather than S52 (unless you want to do an OBD2 S52 swap.)

Seems like the OBD2 is taken care of with the right chip? TRM will disable whatever extra bits you want them to. Is there more than that. I've been reading as much as I can, but there's a ton of info, lots of it conflicting, and forums are not the easiest place to find all the answers.

If you are going for simplicity, go with OBD1 S50. If you want more tuning/diag capabilities, go OBD2 S52.

I have very little knowledge or experience with OBD2 swaps, but I hope to change that in the future. If you're interested in an OBD2 swap, I would definitely talk to Hoveringuy (Steve.) He's a wealth of info for OBD2 swaps (he has an M54 powered E30.)

I'm in the middle of a s52 OBD2 swap right now. It seems straight forward and about the same price if you already have the obd2 stuff vs finding the obd1 components. Get a tune with various stuff deleted... Good luck finding your swap! Pm me if you find yourself doing a s52 obd2 swap, Ill be installing mine in April..

S50 definitely the way to go, unless of course you find a great deal on an s52 but then you'd want to rustle up obd1 wiring harness all sensors and intake mani.
