    Can anyone identify this color?

Back in the day, my dad bought an '85 325e. This was 20+ years ago and something that bothers us is that we cant identify the color of it. Not the best picture but its one of two that he ever took of it.

It looks quite gray in the photo but he said it had a greyish color with bluish/greenish-ness to it so my first guess was cosmoblau but I'm not really sure. Any guesses?

EDIT: starting to lean towards granitsilber metallic. My first thought of cosmoblau seems a little off

EDIT 2: ok guess granite is impossible on early models lol

It is a metallic, but some shade of gray, a bit darker than lachs.

My vote is a really washed out champagne or bronzit.

That actually looks really similar. Never have seen that color before

The e21 looks the closest of the three, but it seems too green where the picture looks more metallic grey than anything

Here is a master list I found that has examples of all e30 colors: http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/i...t_Colour_Codes

Definitely cosmosblau. Granitesilber was a 91+ color only. There's a slight chance it could be lachs, simply based on the angle/lighting of the pic, but I still say cosmosblau.

I've seen granite on earlier cars, so that could be wrong.

Cosmoblau has a lot more blue to it.

I vote granite or washed out lach

I would be very impressed if you could find a pre-airbag car that was painted OE Granitsilber from the factory in North America. Ain't gonna happen.
