    Factory E30 GPS

I met the guy and the radio and everything functions great. Problem is I went to BMW and they can not find a part number. Is this factory?

I want it everything works and looks period correct.

GPS was created and realized by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and was originally run with 24 satellites. It became fully operational in 1994.

In 1996, recognizing the importance of GPS to civilian users as well as military users, U.S. President Bill Clinton issued a policy directive declaring GPS to be a dual-use system and establishing an Interagency GPS Executive Board to manage it as a national asset.

BMW was very forward thinking around that time. It's very possible that they had a vision of what the future would be like, so they pulled an Apple, and installed GPS chips in their head units of the E30, so when the time came they could activate them.

wasnt meant for the e30, not that there is anything wrong with putting it in the E30

Or somewhere in the Eastern Oregon and be forced to choose between eating your seats or your children.

That definitely looks more like an e36 display. It will never be useful though. I bet its impossible to update it.
