    WTB: M10 or KA24DE swap

Compression is going out in mine and started smoking so I'm looking to get a good replacement to keep it on the road or a 240sx swap. I'm not a purist and BMW motors are expensive so please spare the comments.

** looking for it to be in the Lakewood/Tacoma area.

nah, you're going to end up spending more to do a KA swap... you could find a whole early 318i car for cheaper

I'm planning on doing all the work myself so it shouldn't cost more than parts. I can't seem to find an M10...

I drift at the track and have been in plenty ka24s! If your going through the trouble of swapping a motor put in a m20 instead. It will be easier and more powerful!!

I'm looking at more for aftermarket. I'd have to change just as much stuff to get a KA in there. I'm looking around at different options it doesn't seem like I have too many as of yet

I'll message the person about that car but it doesn't sound like it has a good motor.

^Exactly. You would need to do the same amount (if not more) amount of work for a Nissan swap then to do an M20. Hell, you could do an M50 for not much more money than that.

Ultimately, it's your car and your choice, and if you're happy, that's all that matters.

BMW engines have plenty of aftermarket, just not ebay shit. Unless you are building an M10 for boost, I would say go M20.

If I stay M10 it will get boosted for sure. I'd need the engine, trans, harness and ecu for a M20. I'm not against it totally, it's more of what I can find at my price point right now.

M20 swap is too expensive, but you can afford all the stuff for a KA24 including custom swap pieces?

If you happen to have money to do a rebuild, I've got a spare engine in Tacoma that had low compression. You could have that rebuilt while your current motor is on it's last leg, and then give me the engine you have. Maybe we could just work out a couple hundred dollar deposit until your old engine is returned.

I can make the pieces for the swap so that's not a big deal. I don't really want to rebuild a motor right now but I might take you up on that if I can't come up with a motor or swap.
