Service Reset / SRS check light reset tool?

    PNW'ers:

Anyone local to Seattle have/rent a tool for the service reset and SRS lights? I've searched with and came up with the paper clip reset method and the electrical tape for the SRS, but l am looking for a proper fix.

Is there a tool available to reset both for a 1991 318is?

    Thanks,

Service reset is fairly simple, just jump pin 19 to 7 I think. The SRS I'd just take the air bag stuff out from under the dash and in engine bay.

My insurance no likey ... otherwise I would. I'm looking to see if it can be reset as I don’t necessarily want to replace it.

        Jiffy lube can do it.

Not sure on price, but it should only take a jiffy.

Not all of them have it though, you may just want to call around

James C has the tool. You need the BMW tool, my Snap On Diagnostic does not work.

Yeah I'll hit up James ... I'm not trusting my car to some chucklehead at jiffy.
