Any way you could get the vin#'s off the hood and trunk and post them here?

I've got a few resources that may pay off. Let us know! Personally, I think this is a good lead. Chances are they came off the same car that the parts went on to.

The vins were scratched off and the car is going to be scrapped/auctioned off.

It's not the conclusion I ever wanted, but it's at least done.

First of all...this whole thing sucks. Very sorry. Side note, was riding Max yesterday and cruising IG. Van Westervelt's wife is smoking hot. I'm also married with two kids, so dude, you kinda win, even though this whole Charlie Foxtrot has been a kick in hte nuts.

or those parts came off a junkyard car or parts car. there's no realistic way to track parts on cars this old.

Theres an old school trick where u spray the vin on parts with uv ink. Use a blacklight to find your parts.

Anyone thinking this wasn't done by someone who is a member of R3v is naive. This is the premier E30 forum and I'm betting anyone in the pnw who turns a wrench to customize an E30 is on here. There IS a theif among us. Sorry to see this come to such a sucky ending. Hopefully someone is outed someday.

So apparently someone bought startecs at the picnic for stupid cheap, and I guess the seller was only around for a half hour... Something stinks with that.

They weren't curt's tails. They were cracked startecs for $30 that an old man just wanted to pass along to give someone in the community a good deal. Curt had brand new MHWs.

Phew, I was steamed when I read that first post. A lot of people confuse the two.

I didnt want to go to the picnic for this reason. I wouldnt have enjoyed myself, I would have been looking at everyones car and parts wondering...

I picked up a set of the repops about 6 months ago of the MHWs, not as good of quality, but they look the part and cost it too. If I hadnt had both sets myself, I would think these are legit too.
