After a bunch of shit that doesn't bear going into, I convinced my friend that he couldn't not pick up this black '87 325 that I found in Longview (he's currently going between a 90's honda accord and a 90's chevy cavalier). I drove up there and checked it out, haggled down to $1k, and drove it home where I've been getting it more roadworthy.
Right off the bat, I knew that the shocks and struts needed replaced before the car would walk like a bimmer, there was a gnarly exhaust leak that made the car talk like a fighter plane. Plenty of random little interior stuff that I tore right into while I waited for parts to show up.
Anyway, once I'd replaced all the parts I intended to, I realized that the exhaust on this car is definitely not stock. The leak that I fixed was between the two in-line cats that join at a triangular flange, which is where it seems that the exhaust goes from stock to aftermarket (I'll post pictures of the exhaust later).
What I'm really hoping to do is to find somebody who wants to play with this exhaust, and has a stock exhaust (from the cat on back) that they want to trade. This car's gonna be a DD, and definitely can't be the 100 db or more that it makes when you put your foot down.
Other parts I'm looking for:
- IACV / intake boot hose
- MAF unit
- any OBC that works
- uncracked dashboard
- heater control panel (as complete as possible)
- OEM shift knob
- un-fucked black vinyl comfort seats
- glovebox w/ hinge (don't need the latch)
- one rear (red) side marker
- front ashtray
