    Looking for a Portland/Vancouver shop

My dad's 325ix has a serious lack of power. He took it to a small town shop and they said "It's your oxygen sensor", and they replaced that to no effect. They then say "Compression test is bad in 2 cylinders, want us to pull the head and take a look?". Suffice it to say we both think a second opinion would be good, and if it comes to pulling the head we'd like someone with more experience with older BMWs to do so. Can anyone suggest a trustworthy shop in the Portland/Vancouver area that would be good for deep engine work if it comes to that? If there are multiple options, one closer to the east side would be closer.

    Thanks!

Try getting another compression check. To make sure there not blowing smoke up your arse. Pulling the head could be expensive if that's not the problem. Just my thought, if you were closer I'd be willing to look at for you and give you a second opinion.

If they told you that you're lacking power because of an O2 sensor then I certainly wouldn't trust their word on a compression test, it'll run just fine with no sensor at all if everything else is in good shape.

Pacific Motorsports their hands down the best and they are very E30 oriented.

Rhom doesn't have the best mechanics but great fabricators. I have heard OK things about Pacific Motorsport. Hartmann is another good shop

I wouldn't take my car to any of these shops listed, besides Dynasport.

The only two people I would even consider are Mike O'Hara (who has worked on these cars for 40+ years) or Ryan Haines at Dynasport.

If I had the time, I would happily do it for you, but I'm slammed lately

Good luck to you and your dad, Tyler.

I've had good luck with the guys at Munich Motorsports. Joseph and Sam are great. Also, they're E30 guys
