I dont think that will work, they made a change in the size of the part that connects to the driveshaft to the transmission at the same time of adding vanos to the M50, so if it was vanos it most likely would work but it unfortunately isn't. Thanks though!

On another note, we still need a driveshaft to finish this 5 speed conversion!

Nv cars have zf sg310 with 96mm guibo.
Vanos cars had getrag g250 with 84mm guibo

Diff sides are also matching 96mm/84mm cv

My 92 525-5mt had a 96mm cv flange on the original 3,23 diff I needed to retain and install on the new unit when I replaced it with a built 3,15 diff. Trans side must obviously match.

That explains it, we need the 84mm. We have 2 different driveshafts right now but they're both bigger then the flange.

Yes bmw made the e34 horrifically complex. Imagine the added puzle in europe with xi models and diesels!

The m20 g260 cars and m30b35 g260 and m60b30 cars have similar drive shafts 96mm both ends.

The zf310 cars (non vanos like my 92) 96mm both ends

The g250 (vanos m50) have 84mm both ends.

Shift linkages and trans mounts seem to all be different; easiest to just order new bmw oem from blunt.
