Stranded in Gresham, might need a coil

I might be looking for a used coil in the Gresham area in the immediate (today) future.

Actually, I'm not stranded but my Dad with his 325ix is. It was sort of missing but completely driveable and then suddenly was missing so much he couldn't let the clutch out without it dying, and now it won't really start. Since he has new spark plugs, plug wires, injectors, cap, and rotor, my go-to here is thinking it's the coil. The car has 320,000+ miles and there is no reason to think the coil has ever been replaced.

If it's a wiring issue he's probably screwed for making it home today (an hour down the gorge), but if it's simply a coil and someone has one he can toss in (and pay you for) that would be awesome! I'll post back when I know if it's the coil or not. If you're really eager to sell you can pm me contact info ahead of time and I'll contact you directly when we know.

Thanks to the community for reading!

The car is right around SE Powell Valley Rd and hwy 26.
He's at an appointment right now and is going to test the coil and call me back after he gets out. Hopefully he does that soon :)

Let me know by 230 I'm a few blocks away.

Is it in a parking lot I can just go leave the coil with it if you want.

He managed to coast it into a napa parking lot of all places :)
How might he compensate you for it? He's not back at the car yet.

He thinks he'll be back at the car by 2:20, and if for whatever reason he's not there when you swing by just toss it under the car 12 inches and he'll be there shortly. Just in case there are multiple E30s at napa, his is a red 325ix parked in the gravel part of the parking lot.

I'm not sure if the coil I brought him will work, his was bigger. I don't know if that's an ix thing or an "i" thing.

                        r3v still rocks, regardless :)

While the car is still stranded, I've been informed that he isn't as stranded as I initially though since he was actually in the area to drop a different car off for repair. So he's not immobile. While Napa didn't have a coil, O'Reilly's said they could get one from the warehouse at around 5pm so he's going to give that a shot, along with replacing the fuel/ecu relays. If the O'Reilly's one isn't a match he might try the 325e(?) coil. It may not run well, but maybe it'll prove that the coil he has is bad.

According to realoem all M20s share the same coil "12131286087"
