Trying to find a good mechanic in the North Seattle area.

So I've just gotten my hands on a 1988 325is and I need some shop suggestions in the North Seattle area. I've got likely a vacuum leak and a couple other things I need to get checked out.

Preferably a BMW or German car specialist, but any suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks!

I see you're in Bham. Have you tried Northwest European? Ron knows his shit.

Northwest European Autoworks is Bellingham’s trusted specialist for European auto repair, performance and maintenance. We service BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Porsche, MINI and more with expert diagnostics, factory-grade equipment, and personalized customer care.

Also Rand at Quattro Season Autowerks in Ham is awesome, and a little cheaper. He's built tons of E30's, and has two PRO3 cars he's built. He's in India til the 5th of Jan though.

Kevin Doyle in Bellevue rocks. He maintains a couple Pro3 cars, actively races them. He's helped both my brother and I with various issues. Here's a thread with reviews/contact info.

Rand is a hell of a nice guy. Worth giving him a buzz.

Thanks for the suggestions! I actually know both of NW European and Rand at Quattro Season (haven't talked to them yet, haven't needed to!), but I'm in Seattle (Shoreline) at my parents house for break, haha. I'm worried about making the 80 mile trip up in the next few days with a struggling engine. It seems to do fine at speed, but it idles rough and struggles starting. Stalled a few times on me at stoplights as well.

I'll keep in mind Kevin at KD but like I said I'm trying to stay pretty close to North Seattle as to avoid being stranded... I have no idea how well I can trust this engine.

Good to know, hah. Apparently he has an Alpine White front bumper for sale that I'm trying to get my hands on.

PLENTY of good shops in the area. Most of the good ones have been mentioned here.

Good luck getting things fixed up!

Now there's a suggestion I like. Only a few blocks from my parents house! All five star on yelp as well. Thanks! They know much about e30s?

I had a horrible, horrible experience with that place about 5-6 years ago. Performance motors is just up in Lynnwood.

Okay... made it up to Bellingham, car seems to be fine on the highway.

It's now at NW Euro getting looked at. Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I'll keep them in mind for my parents cars when they've got to take them in (a VW and a Saab, they definitely will).

Not looking forward to classes starting again, I've got so many parts I need to install!
