    Need my windshield seal replaced.

    Any suggestions? My car has leaked since I bought it(6 years) . I've cleared my sunroof drains, sealed up the holes in my firewall and it still leaks, I'm pretty sure it's the windshield. I have new carpet and a rust free floor board but I need to fix my leak first.

    Any recommendations on a place that can do a good job?im also worried about what I may find when the windshield is pulled. I don't need new glass, I'm putting in my euro glass.

    On another note I will have a spare chip free wind sheild soon, if anybody needs one.

      He has the lock strip tool. Honestly, I wouldn't even know who to ask. Fucking with removing/installing glass scares me.

        I was able to successfully remove the front glass from the 323 but reinstalling is not my cup of tea

          Pulling them can go either way (I've done it lots of times), but reinstalling them is not something I ever care to try. Body/paint/glass are not my deal, yo.

            I did a windshield swap on my car and it was ridiculously easy. Now, I did NOT pull/replace the seal. Just the glass and lockstrip because the glass was cracked. So I don't know if there is any glue adhering the seal to the frame? If so, weather striping adhesive takes forever to dry so it'd be simple to lay a bead, drop the gasket in place and work the glass into the groove. If not, even simpler, just makes sure it's clean, dry and pop it into place.

                Well I have an extra windshield maybe I'll give it a shot. Probably best that way so I can weld in a new cowl if it's rusty under the seal.

                    When the seal was in place I just used a spray bottle of soapy water, and two plastic gasket scrapers. Have you ever mounted a tire before? Same concept of sticking the scraper under the rubber lip and prying up while you slide down the scraper down the gasket. You'll see once you're in there it seems much harder than it is. I thought there was a DIY with pictures but on cursory search I don't see it.

                    You could always practice on a junkyard car.

                    EDIT; Do you have new lockstrips? Supposedly you can reuse the late model black versions but I just got brand new black ones from a buddy at the dealer. My original "chrome" early version cracked to pieces on removal. Same for when I pulled the rear window.

                      I'm gonna buy new lock strips and seal. I've done thousands of bmx tires I'm sure it's the same concept. I've replaced quarter glass on non popouts so it shouldn't be to bad. Thanks for the advice.

                            There is special tool but I did not use it so I can't comment on how it's used/tips on usage.
