    rear shock boot attachment?

got bilstein sport shocks, installed them, figured out that the old KYB's had integrated boots, and they are non removable. ordered new boots from pelican, they got here, figured out there is no way for me to attach them. i'm thinking it's because the PO chucked the little plate things that they normally attach to (part #6 in the link below). posting this in the PNW section because i'm hoping that somebody can tell me if these are indeed normally what the OEM boot attaches to, and has a pair hanging around. if nobody has any around, maybe somebody has been to a junkyard in the portland/vancouver area lately and saw unmolested stock rear suspension on an e30, and/or knows there i can go yank a set real quick. they are special order from BMW on pelican, and would take a couple weeks to come in. i don't wanna run my new bilsteins during the rainy season with no boots. thanks guys! new ones cost $11 for the pair, i will gladly pay that for used ones just to get them quicker.

I had the same issue years ago. The old mounts have a metal washer that holds them. If I remember right I used a ziptie to hold them on, I just wrapped it around edge, and pulled it tight, still fine 5 years later

    Please leave feedback below, thanks

I used tupperware midget lids with a hole punched for shock.
