Hey guys-
I found a 1990ish (cant remember exactly) 318i manual 4 door that the guy is willing to sell. I dont know what to offer, especially since I just want the chassis. Its got around 200,000 miles on it (slightly under). Someone had a sub installed in the trunk at some point (so there are a couple of PVC ports drilled into the rear parcel shelf), there was an aftermarket alarm system that someone ripped out, I think it has a Volvo lip, so someone...sort of...loved the car at some point. It does have a branded title. It was branded in 1993, but the new owner claims it was a theft recovery. I have the VIN, so I'm going to check it out.
He tossed out $2500 and I could barely contain my laughter. I was thinking half that. Maybe. But I'm still used to $500 rollers and $100 parts cars.
Here's the only picture I shot, it shows the damage: http://i.imgur.com/0qq8sGu.jpg
The engine and tranny look like they're in great shape. The clutch is new. There was some rear damage that was repaired, so the rear suspension is mostly new and mostly redone. He is tracking down receipts. The rims and tires are good. I could part out most of the parts, I just cant handle $2500 right now. Any idea what I should offer? And if I decide not to buy it (or someone just wants the guts), I'll pass the location along.
Oh, it was also smoked in. Big no no for me, but I wouldn't be using the black, vinyl, comfort interior anyway. Manual crank sunroof, no check panel display. So basically the only amenities the car has are power windows. Paint is...may be savable, I didn't see any rust but I didn't poke around too much.
I can go snap more pictures tomorrow, but anyone have any idea what I should offer? If anyone wants a 318i drive train I might have one for sale soon.
