    Moble Welders in seattle

    Hi all,

    Recently after I pulled the carpet on a car I am working on, I noticed there is a decent size gash in the sheet metal on the floor of the car. I figure that if I ignore this, this would lead to a decent amount of noise in the cabin.

    Does anyone know of a good mobile welder who could come over and weld these gash closed?

    or even just welders in the seattle area, i guess craigslist is my next stop if no one knows anyone who would be able to do it

      Call Larry at Sta-Weld, he's not cheap but does excellent work. He works out of his home shop or has a mobile shop.

          He did some aluminum welding for me in his shop, so it's a completely different situation then what you have going. I'm sure it would be cheaper if you could take the car to his place.

            Guy says he, and i quote, "doesn't weld on cars anymore"

            Not sure how welding metal somehow differs wildly on cars but...

              Only thing I could guess is welding sheet metal is tough just because you can burn through it easy.

                hmm, makes sense,

                I think im just going to pound the metal down and use some type of metal epoxy like this stuff. I think if i pound it down, epoxy it from both sides and grind it down and then cover it with some dynamat, i think that should quell any cabin noise from the hole

                  Larry is an old timer that's set-up to weld most anything. I would think he's more concerned about the liability of messing with the electronics attached to the car, or liability vs profit margin.
