    Clutch Slave/Master or both..

So I hopped into my car and while driving I noticed a lot less resistance in my clutch pedal. Now the clutch is engaging fine, but just further along in the travel. My first suspicion is that the slave is going bad, but could the master be the issue as well? How can I diagnose each one individually? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You just replace both. If one fails, the other is soon to follow.

I prefer to buy them new (~$100 for the pair,) but I have a used master and slave if you need them.

Thanks for the input Austin. Car is swapped so I'm unsure as to when they were last replaced, but I'll start with the slave and go from there.

How'd you diagnose the slipping? Is the clutch smoking after driving on it?

            * I just replaced my clutch, and the clutch slave. Thought I had to replace the clutch master because of lack of pressure, but after pumping occasionally and letting it sit for a couple of hours, it started to feel just fine. It's very drivable now, and I haven't noticed anything funky, even though I'm planning to do the clutch master as soon as I can afford it.

            That self-bleeding bullshit really works.

No smoking, but under acceleration in 3rd gear about half throttle, I got some lovely shuddering and the revs climbed and bounced til the clutch caught again.
