1 year later another try. any one with a lasch silver hood.

Please don't make me go another summer with my peeling fucked up looking hood. Just about to put the super hipster roof rack on, so im all ready to drive to your house and buy a nice replacement.

Price is.... ehhhhh negotiable? We will come to a agreement. If you happen to have Lachssilber plastic bumpers too, I have a 88 vert ( not running ) I would trade the whole car for all 3.

pm me, post here, whatever! thanks in advance.

      Good luck man
Lachs was only produced in 88-89, and as you might know only 89's of those two years had plastic bumpers

Coming from a Lachs-bro who had to recently track down a new bumper and hood (got lucky on a new hood, but just ended up just painting the bumper myself)

      I know that feel
      The struggle is real

Why not just paint your faded/peeling hood?

well to be honest, I had no idea this color was harder to find. I was hoping to just come up on the perfect set of all 3, I thought offering a whole vert would easily make that happen.

I have considered the paint route a few times, but I don't have the resources to properly paint something. If I painted it would be spray paint and clear coat, which probably couldn't look much worse than it already does haha. At this point at least for the bumpers a nice pair would do, any color.

If you run out of options/patience, there's still something you can try:

Get a color close enough to Lachssilber from anywhere (Polaris, Granit, Delfin, Glacier, Bronzit)

Call up Jerry's Paint in Sacramento and tell them the paint code (IIRC, Lachs is BMW 203)
          1 (916) 483-4661

I use them for Lachssilber. Last I knew, they also ship paint on your dime (worth it!). They also sell automotive grade epoxy 2-stage clear; I'd suggest 3 cans.

You'd need two cans of paint match to paint a hood and 2 bumpers.

Sand hood down to flat/smooth and primer where necessary

Just did my bumpers, hood, and driver's quarter panel for less than $150 in my backyard. I used the same logic as you; I couldn't possibly screw it up more than it already is. Came out pretty good! (With the right prep that is). Paint is all about prep

I need to do this. The rim around the grill on the hood and fenders of my car are all the way to metal. And starting to rust. And rust on my bottom left corner of my left taillight have rust. And major clear coat gone on the roof and trunk. As a lachssilber owner... Yes my name says different cause I didn't know color it was when I first bought it and joined lol. Love this color! It's my favorite on e30's.

Lachs nearly drove me crazy 2 years ago before I bought the Lachs iS

It's a beautiful color; very old-school shade of silver. Very hard to make it look bad

One of the main reasons I snagged mine up was cause of the color. she needs some tlc. But what other e30 doesn't?

My lachssilber is an 87'... It's also an euro car. Idk if that plays a roll.

Site I use was only for USDM. I'm at a total loss for euro paint offerings

But if that's the case though... Why not just rock euro bumpers? I'd kill for an early model Lachs with euro bumpers

Quick google check to verify my source has revealed that I was wrong. Apologies; actual production seems to e pointing to 86-89

Regardless, like I mentioned before; only one year got plastic bumpers in Lachs

........Just go get the hood resprayed. Any reputable body shop is more than capable of an e30 hood man. I know a mobile paint guy that could have that prepped and sprayed for under 300 bucks.

I want my whole car prepped and resprayed lol although I have bigger issues to fry. And don't feel my car is worth it yet.
