[solved] Help! Stuck on I5 at Longview exit, need caliper bolt

Hi all, I was traveling north from Portland just a little while ago and I noticed a grinding from the front drivers side caliper. Took the wheel off and notice that the top caliper bolt is missing! I just got off 14 west after some spirited driving and it must have vibrated itself out or I didn't tighten it down enough when I inspected them last.

Does anyone from the Portland/Vancouver or surrounding areas have a spare caliper bolt they can swing by? I will compensate you for your trouble

    Thanks
    -Evan

Consider yourself luck, that the caliper didn't cam lock against the wheel..

Very true, although the top bolt is the one which fell out, so i was lucky in that regard. All that happened was the caliper pivoted on the lower bolt and still performed while grinding against the edge of the rotor. Had it been the bottom bolt that came out, it would have, as you said, slammed against the inside of the wheel as the caliper grabbed hold of the rotor.

Pretty scary stuff, i am putting locktight on all these bolts from now on
