Gents,
I've got a 3 series with a LOT of Hartge pieces. Previous owner claims it was originally a Hartge. Without talking about titles and whatnot (it's complicated, and not relevant), what would be the best identifier to whether or not this E30 was ever an actual Hartge?
It's reconstructed, and rough. Body panels aren't an option, as the VIN's don't match. There is no VIN plate on the dash, as it appears to be Grey Market. The VIN stamped into the cowelling under the windscreen wiper comes back as "No data" from BMW, and there is another 8 digit number code next to it.
Can't seem to find any VIN plates in locations not likely affected by collision repair.
If this ever was a Hartge, I want to get this to someone who'd like to rebuild it, but I'd like to identify it first. If not, someone's getting a really cheap, really cool drift rocket.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
