    Seattle area shops

I've had a post in the PNW facebook group and chit chat thread, but I thought I'd make a separate one here to see if I could get a bit more feedback. I don't have the time/space/tools to refresh the rubber under my car and it's very apparent that now's the time. I also need to do the CSB and guibo on my driveshaft.

Am I nuts to think that I can get the parts together and have a shop do it for me for less than a grand? Is there a decent place in the area to get it done? I need the brakes too, but I already have all the parts off my parts car, just need the fluid flushed and parts installed.

IF you had the space, how long (read: how much experience) do you think it would take you to go through what you need? Is it a DD so it has to be done ASAP?
      Need a part? PM me.

I have a garage and a parts car, it's not a DD until January at the earliest. The biggest thing is that I don't have a lot of free time, nor do I have a lift (I have a floor jack and some stands).

As to experience - zero. I've done my own brakes, but that's it, never done the suspension/bushing replacement, and I don't have any air tools/presses. I've considered dropping the subframe of my parts car to get everything pressed/etc, but I will need to move it at some point and I'm hesitant to have to do all of this work twice.

If it's not a DD and you have the space (even if a tad cramped), I'd wrench it yourself over the course of a few months. All of the bushings are fairly straight forward to replace. The RTAB's are a pain as are the rear subframe but, definitely do-able.

I'd contact KD motorsports tho for sure if you're dead set on having it done for you. Although, less than a grand might be a bit optimistic?

Do you think it would be cheaper if I went ahead and got the subframe removed and just took that to a shop? That sounds like a stupid question typed out. Can I remove the rear subframe and still roll the parts car?

Single car garage? You can feasibly remove both if you have the jack stands and swap them over a weekend.

Effectively single car - there's another car there taking up space that I have no say over. It's a full two day job though right?

Pretty much. Depending on if you're replacing the subframe bushings or not. You could get it swapped over in a day if it was all straight swaps.

I think, since I'm taking everything apart, that I want to do the subframe bushings while I'm in there.

My alternative is to take the parts car somewhere to die and remove those items then leave it there to rust. Anyone know of a scrapyard/junkyard that will allow that sort of thing?

You can always cut it up into pieces. If you have a title, there's plenty of scrap yards that'll take what you don't want off your hands for free.

So you are looking to have the rear subframe and trailing arm bushings replaced, CSB and Guibo replaced, brakes replaced and flushed all around? Are you also planning on doing the control arms/tie rods etc while you're at it?

You're better off tackling one thing at a time and a parts car is just taking up space if you're not getting rid of parts left and right. Are you parting this car for profit or was it a car that you were driving and trying to get the most money out of it possible?

I'd do everything you can to strip the shit out of the parts car, sell the parts you don't want to keep/use and get a scrapper to buy the chassis from you and then focus on fixing your car. If you're running out of space consider getting a storage unit for a month or two.

The subframe and T/A bushings are much easier to do if you can install everything on a second subframe and have it ready to put on the car and do the guibo at the same time. That will make it a Saturday job and give you a bit of leeway in case something goes wrong.

If you need to do control arms/CABs/tie rods that would be easy to do on another weekend (and you'll need an alignment after doing so).
