Importing E30 from Canada: Help needed!

So I'm really interested in this car from Canada, but I'm having a hard time finding true information on this process. The E30 is an '88 so it's older than 25 years and has whatever exemption that might lead to, but it's a little blurry to me.

    Any help appreciated, thanks!

Drive to border, sign special papers, pay your taxes, drive home, register it.

    Its that easy.

Make sure it has a US speedo, have had a friend try to bring a car over, with a KM cluster. Was a few years ago, he found one there, problem solved

If its 25 years old or older you don't need to swap cluster. I literally just did this process earlier this year. Buy It, drive to border and register it and pay the taxes, go home. Done.

Hence why I said a few years ago....

Im simply sharing the experience of someone who did it. So in the future if someone comes across the thread, they will know that that's someone to think about. It was 25 years old to, but they still wanted a US speedo before they let him bring it in.
