Does anyone know this 318is slicktop?

(tried searching)...Forgive me for intruding on your regional forum, but I know everyone who has searched craigslist in the last month has probably come across this 318is slicktop for sale:

Yes, the price is double what its worth, but I'm wondering if anyone knows the history of this car (and what is with those two switches above the radio and that weird knob below the radio?). Looks to have a crack-free dash, fairly clean seats, and a decent respray (judging by the lack of badge).

I'm tempted to check it out and feel out the price point next time I travel that direction.

I've checked it out about a week ago & Rob the 1st salesperson I spoke with stated the Owner has been driving it a few weeks, fell in love with it, but now has a new "toy" as he put it. Also stated the owner might let it walk for $6500

The car has a aftermarket push start alarm system & fuel pump cut-off switch, which can mean wiring issues in the future. Body has damage to the front valence so that'll need to be replaced. The car is worth $3K-3.5K tops but is double that. Stay away as I knew after seeing it, I had to walk away from it myself.

Firefight is also correct regarding the cluster issues they have been trying to deal with. Dash has a small crack I believe, & the seats are 9/10 for the most part.

This is exactly the type of feedback I was hoping for. Thanks so much for saving me the trouble guys.

The car has been passed thru the auction, had one full not so great respray, missing tons of interior parts, etc, in addition to the sketch ass push button start. I looked at it for a fellow member a few weeks ago and offered $3500. The guy laughed at me. I wouldn't pay a dime over $2500 for it, and that's just because it's a slicktop and some knuckleheads go nuts for them.
