People who do that are just scumbags, usually junkies. Luckily my ups driver is cool, if it doesn't need a signature he'll hide it on the porch for us if no one is home

When i worked for UPS, i was taught the art of package hiding, people would call in, because they couldnt find it. I put small envelopes and boxes in potted plants, under a coil of hose, in a bush etc.

Basically, reported it to USPS, they said because they delivered it, they can't pay any claim.

So I ended up being told to report it to the Police, which I have. So basically it's theft of personal property and not mail theft.
