Local to us in Lynnwood is a place my daughter used "Northwest German" 425-742-1313. They were good to her and if I remember correctly the inspections was $99-150?

Yeah, that's about average. I'd tell them what you want to focus on, etc ... then let them add to the list.

Reminds me of when I started working on cars. My first was a 74' 2002 easy stuff but hard to find parts. And I was a reconstructed title so I just got rid of it and bought a 88' ETA car. I learned on my own no one there to help not even my pops! YouTube Bentley manual hanes manual and google. Last but not least Halsey imports and Bartosh! Have fun good luck!

Oooh, that would be a sweet first car. Yeah, i have a Bentley, and even got my hands on a digital copy of the complete wire diagram for my car. That's been helping A TON with the electrical stuff. I'll check that stuff out, thanks!

timing belt; tensioner now!

Good to see you are wanting to learn all you can. The guys up near you know what they are talking about and can guide you along on most of the projects.
Listen to them when they say do the timing belt first, because if it is really old, you don't want to be driving the car around town.
Other than that, what everyone else said above:)

Nice! Free30 is always a good pick up. Lots of us out here in the area. Once things warm up i'm sure you'll get to meet a few of us.

Timing belt, timing belt, timing belt, and water pump. That's what i'd do right off the bat, get her running nicely so you can rely on it to drive you around. When you're driving you'll really get an idea of what the car needs (immediatly vs. what you can wait on) prioritize accordingly and pick your battles as you go. Best advice I can give you.

Well school started and my job wouldn't take me back part time :/
