There are a couple .... Kid325e works at CarTender in Seattle. They'd be a good place to call and get a price. They do good work there.
Local to us in Lynnwood is a place my daughter used "Northwest German" 425-742-1313. They were good to her and if I remember correctly the inspections was $99-150?Parts Collector and Former Houndstooth interior junkie.Comment

Hmm, I'll be sure to check those out, thanks. Would you say for an inspection that around $125 plus or minus is good then?
Lol, okay. Just don't want to be giving out other people's info. That thing looks awesome. And the datsun there... OMG. I know this is r3v but that Datsun is SEXY.My Photography - http://www.flickr.com/photos/106236166@N06/ - My PhotographyComment

The 240? Yeah, his car is really cool. It's got a later turbo motor in it too. I'm trying to convince him to ditch the OLDschool computer and go megasquirt.84 325e - 91 325i - 92 318 touring - 91 Trans Am - 01 S4 avant - 03 S-type R - 96 F350 - 15 SS - 84 Biturbo - 91 Defender

Yeah, that's about average. I'd tell them what you want to focus on, etc ... then let them add to the list.Parts Collector and Former Houndstooth interior junkie.Comment

Reminds me of when I started working on cars. My first was a 74' 2002 easy stuff but hard to find parts. And I was a reconstructed title so I just got rid of it and bought a 88' ETA car. I learned on my own no one there to help not even my pops! YouTube Bentley manual hanes manual and google. Last but not least Halsey imports and Bartosh! Have fun good luck!Comment

timing belt; tensioner now!
Good to see you are wanting to learn all you can. The guys up near you know what they are talking about and can guide you along on most of the projects.
Listen to them when they say do the timing belt first, because if it is really old, you don't want to be driving the car around town.
Other than that, what everyone else said above:)
Good luck and have fun with each project.

Nice! Free30 is always a good pick up. Lots of us out here in the area. Once things warm up i'm sure you'll get to meet a few of us.
Timing belt, timing belt, timing belt, and water pump. That's what i'd do right off the bat, get her running nicely so you can rely on it to drive you around. When you're driving you'll really get an idea of what the car needs (immediatly vs. what you can wait on) prioritize accordingly and pick your battles as you go. Best advice I can give you.clutchCTRL!Move with a purpose.- 1991 325iX 4dr/5spd- 1976 2002 SlickTop/2.7i M20/G260- 2000 323i AT2016 Mazda CX3 Sport AWDComment
