New to e30's looking for guidance

The only BMW I have ever owned was a 2011 135I and I loved that car. I got rid of it to get back into 4x4's because I can take family along with me on the trail. I have a 72' Bronco now and I am looking to get an e30 to replace my current daily driver (93' Festiva).

It seems to me that the e30 community is a lot like the classic bronco community. Do you guys host local events very often? I need to get back into auto X and track days so I am hoping some of you frequent the local tracks here.

I would like guidance on picking out a good one. I am familiar with older vehicles but what I have learned is that problems that seem small can cost a lot of money to fix if you do not know what you are looking at.

My time of purchase will most likely be in Feb. I am already approved for a loan in case I need more cash to get a good one. I am happy with a 325E if I can get one cheap (under 3k) with a nice body. Rips in interior do not bother me because that is easier to fix then body damage. I am looking to spend a max of about 5k on the initial purchase.

Does anyone have a good starter car for sale? I am going to end up fixing it up and modding it so there is no need for it to be perfect yet. Would anyone be willing to go look at some local cars with me? I would of course pay for services rendered with beer, food, or Bronco parts :)

Sorry you didn't get much response! The Facebook PNW30 and R3Vlimited pages are probably a good starting point, along with the pnw lowbeams group (BMW parts/cars for sale).

Make sure the body is straight and the car runs, and extra bonus if some of the suspension bits have been replaced (25 year old rubber is pretty due for replacement).

Ha! I've owned a 76' bronco for 14 years, I would look for a late model 88'-91'under 250kmi IMO there still out there under $3000

Good luck. Realistically, you will find early models for that kind of money, but if you are patient you could probably come across a car within those bounds.

You can still get really good if not great E30 platforms to fix up for the $2-3K mark, but it took me 8 months of searching before getting mine & I had to jump on a plane 9 hours later to go grab it.
