    Someone please help!

So my dumb ass just about finished up my full suspension and while I was finishing up the driver side control arm I stripped the outer ball joint screw. Is it possible and not to much work to just replace the ball joint without taking off the whole control arm? And is there even just a ball joint replacement part I can buy without buying the whole control arm. I don't want to start over again even though its not hard to just replace the whole control arm I just don't have time. My wife will probably bash out my windows on my cat if she hears me say that I need to take apart the suspension again. :hitler::hitler:

i dont know of anyway to replace that without throwing a new control arm on but when i put coilovers on my last car my tierod was a little stripped but i needed the car that day so i just git a new nut, put a jack under the control arm and then i was able to tighten it on with help from the jack underneath... i dont know if this makes any sense but this is what helped me when i was in a pinch

I get what you're saying but the bottom of the screw on mine is stripped so don't have any screw left to tighten. The bottom half is stripped.

Hey, try a thread follower, that's what a buddy of mine told mento do and it worked great. Unless it's complete sheared you might get lucky.

That's what I ended up doing but I'm afraid it might snap from all the pressure from taking corners hard.

Ill look that up never done that. But the problem is that its stripped so hard there are no threads left its just looks like a bolt with no threads. I kept tightening it and didn't know I was stripping it. So you can imagine.

You're gonna need a new control arm if you dont have any threads. No amount of shims or washers will fix it.

Chase the threads with a die, they may be salvageable.

Dear good there are some terrible suggestions in here. If it is so far gone that you cannot chase the threads, just get a new arm. OEM is what, only $100? And get your self a torque wrench.

Control arms start at $42-ish on rockauto. Just get a new one, then prep the one with the ruined ball joint for next time.

Control arm is an hour job, I would just get another one.
