84 318i wont crank over/start

New starter/battery.

In the Vancouver washington area, anyone around me know these cars?

Kind of baffled that I can't get the car to turn over, I could of hooked up the starter wrong.

Check ground.

x2. Check all the grounds and battery terminals and make sure they are clean and tight

Ground strap, then check that the black with yellow stripe wire is plugged in to the lower spade connector that's the trigger wire. But if you have an auto then make sure your in park, if you are and it still doesn't work try neutal

Okay I got it to start now it just won't idle.

Go though and do a tune up on it. M10s are cheap, then check for vacuume leaks.
Check your firing order aswell that can be throwing you off.
