    a/c question!

So I refilled my wife's a/c on her 2001 Volvo s80 and before I refilled it, it would be cold for like 10-15 min then cut out and get warm, after I refilled it, it was ice cold for 15 min then got warm again. I refilled it with a 12oz bottle from an auto parts store. Maybe I need more?? What's do you guys think? Most of my previous cars had no a/c mk1 rabbit, mk2 gti, mk2 Jetta, e28, 2002, and a bunch of e30's, and my Volvo v70 R, and 850 R had ac but never had to refill them. :hitler:

Abd yes I know this is not a Volvo forum but I saw a few people on here have Volvos for daily driver's.

um i would assume the charge is being let out somewhere, probably at or near the compressor. I would get some uv die at Oriely and put that in the system then try charging it again, not with the full bottle, just a little bit to get the pressure up and then take a uv light and try and see if you can find any leaks or spots where its coming out. Could be the dryer too, and or maybe you have some water in the system. But more likely than not you'll prob have to get it professionally evacuated at a shop and then charged to get it blowing cold again. Also, you'll wanna check that all your green o-rings are good too, it could be just a simple as replacing an o-ring to get it to hold its charge.

That's because that DIY R13A can is shit. You're not properly recharging the system.
In all honesty if you're unsure how to diagnose an a/c system and don't have the proper tools, just go take it to a shop. It's really easy to do more damage to system if you don't know what you're doing.
