Need help installing suspension! Anyone interested?

I'm back to daily driving my e30 and really need some new suspension on her quick! Hoping to have this done ASAP so it will be ready for the Leavenworth drive and the E30 PICNIC!!! :D

My problem is I've only assisted people while installing suspension. I figured I would ask the r3v community and see if anyone is interested in helping a fellow member out. Obviously I will be compensating whoever will help with money, as well as some beers and food if they so wish!

So if you are interested, shoot me a PM and let me know when you can help and how much you would like to be paid for your help and we can get to work on making it happen!

    Thanks!

I'll be doing a bunch of work on my e30 at my parents house in Bellevue this weekend if you wanna come over and work on it there I doubt they would mind. I have a full set of stock front suspension with billy HDs and a set of rear billy HD shocks. You would only need to find stock rear springs. PM me if you are interested.

I have a garage with basic tools. I don't own a spring compressor but I'm pretty sure my brother would have one. Currently on deck is some Space Dust from Elysian, but I can stock the fridge with WHATEVER beer you would like! :D

I bet you could find a set of H&R Sport and Bilstein sport for a fair deal. I know turner has the race/billy sport combo for $700 shipped or so.

Harbor Freight spring compressors are good enough to use for one or two cars before you toss em, and they're usually pretty cheap with a 20% off coupon.

I'd offer to help but I just dont have time or space right now, but good luck to ya. you might want to inspect your strut mounts to make sure if they are good enough to use or not. the bearings do wear out over time.

I might just hold out on the springs for now and reuse the ones I currently have. Springs can last much longer than the shocks and struts, right? I haven't noticed any damage on any of them after taking the wheels off.

Man this forum is the best. So much support and help being thrown at me! I appreciate it! What would indicate the strut mounts are worn out? Never changed those before so I'm not sure what to look for.

springs do not wear out but can rust (mostly seems to be an issue on E46s)

Ok, I'll take a look at the springs and see how they look.

Besides the new struts/shocks, is there anything else I need to replace while I'm at it? Spring perch rubber? Pinch bolt and nut?

You can rent spring compressor from your local auto part stores. The rest of the stuff is easy, especially with moral support from some of the guys.

I will be purchasing the Bilstein sport shock set as well as the new strut/shock mount kit from Turner today!

For anyone interested in helping me install the suspension I will be targeting sometime next week (assuming the parts are here by then..) I'll shoot you all a PM and see where you stand on being able to help me out and what your schedule looks like for next week.

Once again thanks R3v. Me love you long time.

While you are buying or renting the spring compressor it would be helpful to pick up a balljoint separator. Makes removing the strut housing a snap
