anyone have a Bilstein collar nut tool i can borrow?

Helping a friend do struts and we can't get the damn collar nut off. Tried vice grips, etc. Still stuck in there. I believe they are original struts to the car.

if anyone has one i can borrow quick for this evening, i can have it back to you tonight or tomorrow.

    thanks much!

Reattach a wheel to the strut and then put the wheel face down on the group. You should be able to get enough leverage to break that thing loose.

Thats a good idea and we'll try that but i fear leverage isn't our issue. We have vice grips and a medium size pipe wrench but all are slipping off. Either need a bigger pipe wrench or the bilstien tool.

Its a small to medium size pipe wrench tho, its not getting full teeth on both sides of the nut, and therefore, slipping. Normally i would agree but i don't have a 'monster size' pipe wrench as everyone seems to use for this.

Bingo, yes sir, ok we'll keep that in mind, Olympia is a bit of a drive but still would make this 10x easier bar us buying a pipewrench or sourcing another tool here locally. thanks man!

Is that pipe wrench for sale or for borrow? i couldn't tell with the $20 laying there. If its for sale, i would for sure buy it. If you can let us borrow it, where abouts are you located? I can pick it up this evening
