    Paint shops

So I am looking to get my car painted soon and was wondering if any one here has any recommendations from first hand experiance or word of mouth of some reputable shops. Anywhere in the greater Seattle area.

Haury's has always been thrown around by Seattle PRO3 guys and E30 owners. I don't have personal experience, but I am sure John P or Criv can give you some better advice.

Haury's and Eurotech are good shops. If you are looking for a cheap respray, neither are your shop as they do very nice work. Haury's also has donated a free paint job on an E30 at the E30 Picnic for the last 3 years. So we need to give them kudos for that.

If you can do all or a large portion of the prep work, that will save a lot of money.

Any ideas what kind of money you're looking at at either Haury's or Eurotech? What's the prep-yourself discount?

Same. I might be looking for a paint job early next year.

I contacted haurys and they wanted 10k for a respray not including jambs and underside of hood and trunk. I think I'll pass.

                    Did that include prep?

As has been mentioned, the more prep you do before hand, the lower the cost.

If you stop off a stripped rolling shell with all body work done and ready for primer and finish, I am sure you could get it shot for a couple grand or maybe less. But the instant they have to start masking or disassembling, or fixing panels, the cost escalates drastically.

Yeah that was including prep. I mean honestly I understand paint jobs can run that high depending on the amount of prep work, type of paint and this and that but I had a car painted last year with prep work and cut and buffed for 2k. A buddy mine had his car stripped down to a shell, prepped, and completely changed the color and that was only 3k. Both turned out fantastic.

Okay so why you don't get your car painted there?

There's a lot of shops out there, why not see what people recommend?

That sounds very fair for a quality job, which they're known for.
