my daughters 2002 325 sport wagon in Seattle

So out with the wife enjoying my Friday off going to dinner.
The daughter calls me right before dinner, says her car quite running, the guy with her, tells me the exhaust is cherry red just past the exhaust manifold.
i think its probably the cat, sudden loss of power. car running like crap.
She lives by North Gate in Seattle. close to Moto International if you know where that's at.
So who can she take her car to for a cat and not get ripped off or a place that will trouble shoot it.
Hard for dad to trouble shoot it over the phone from Spokane.
I would truly appreciate any help you can offer me.

Sounds like running lean and/or a clogged cat. IMHO

I live in Maple Leaf just south of Northgate. I can't recommend any of the shops I've had dealings with in my immediate vicinity (especially avoid Chuck's on Roosevelt). However, Rick's Tire Service on Aurora has hooked me up with fairly priced exhaust work in the past. Not BMW experts but definitely up to the task of troubleshooting/replacing the cat. They're not too far away.

Take the car to Greg at s3 designs. He's just right on the other side of northgate off of aurora. Really good guy and very honest. Awesome pricing too. +1 (206) 351-3923. Greg Miller at S3 designs. Plenty of people here can vouch for him too.

thanks for the replies you all
Chucks Hop shop is a amazing place
            Spokane is sorely lacking that.
We do have JB's bottle works but lacks the atmosphere
any way will pass some of the info to the daughter

actually have a chuck's hop shop bottle opener on my bimmer key ring 😁

chuck's auto repair is near my house and a bit crooked; roommate got some false diagnosis from them in an attempt to get permission replace his transmission. we did it ourselves and it didn't fix what ended up being a loud wheel bearing.
