    Redmond (or Seattle Area) Paint

Long story short, I don't want an S52 euro bumper car with a shitty paint job. Who do we know that does paint in the area? I don't need it to be show car, but I do want some rust spots cleaned up and a bit of body work done.

Mark at Eurotech Bodywerkes. Great shop; I've had them do bodywork since about 1995. He refuses to use poor quality paint to lower your cost, but is willing to have you do some of the prep if you're comfortable with it.

          I second this.

Eurotech Bodywerkes painted my E30 after the door got backed into and did top notch work.

How much did the work run you? I haven't had the pleasure of being run into, so I'll be paying out of pocket.

It's going to run you at least $3k for a shop to paint your car and that is at the low end. I'd expect quotes upwards of $5k from a reputable shop.

5k I can handle, so long as that includes prep work and cleaning up some rust spots. I just can't get into a whole lot more than that.

$5k is the bottom starting point for a good driver quality respray. I'm sure you'll find lots of places that would touch it for around that point. Don't expect perfection or the highest quality paint, but you'll be happy, I'm sure.

Could try and do it yourself for around 800 of mid range paint. What I plan to do. You can rent paint booths for the weekend.

This is exactly what I *don't* want to do. I mean, it sounds good in theory, but I don't want to make an arse of it and then be stuck with a shittier paint job than I already have.
