    Oregon Hwy 20

Last Monday at 6:30-7:30am I had the pleasure of carving up westbound Hwy 20 for the first time. Perfect weather, sun at my back and remote enough that settlements are far and few. Nobody in front of me for about 70 miles. I'm still beaming over it days later. I look for roads like this in Washington and nothing comes close to the length of that hwy. You guys that live in Oregon have a real treasure there.

Any recommendations on other hwy's like that? Was thinking that Hwy 126 cutoff from 20.

Sr123 which cuts between SR410 and Hwy 12 near Mt rainier. Great drive. Take hwy 7 south out of spanaway, then catch 12 in Morton. 12 to sr123 then SR410 home. great drive and close enough

A couple friends and I hit hwy OR-34 from Corvallis to the coast last year around sundown, it was an extremely fun drive and houses are spaced out far enough that there was virtually no one in front of us.

I've also driven hwy OR-242 between sisters and hwy OR-126, which is an incredible road. It's a bit more populated since there is a state park so going early in the morning would be best, but there is a super technical uphill/downhill section through a forest that is an absolute BLAST if no one is in front of you.

It does seem like OR has more fun hwy roads than WA :P

I have the luxury of getting to drive those roads daily for work. I cross the Coastal range several times a week, from 26 to 38.

We have amazing roads surrounded with idyllic scenery. It never gets old.

Also has taught me much about car physics. I retired the e30 from daily duty a while ago, but it helps to know the terrain when you go for "spirited" drives.
