    84/85 or 86/87?

      Going on an '87.

      What is the difference, vents?
Any difference in the mount locations between the two?

The spoiler and valance are completely different from 84/85 cars and 86/87 cars. An 84 lip will not work on an 87 valance and vise versa.

There's a couple different version of the 84/85. Most are swept back toward the underneath of the car.

The 86/87 juts out a bit more toward the front, and then curves back.

I've seen lots of the 84/85, very few of the 86/87. In fact, the only one I have seen is on an ITA racecar.

Hmm. Maybe this is that excuse I was looking for to buy the replica Mtech 1 front valance.

The late model valance with the euro bumpers is bugging me.

The fogs on your Alpina car... those OEM or you get some aftermarket ones?

They are OEM. They are the early-early style that mount to the flat panels below the headlights (the same panel the bottom of the headlight access cover sits in.) If you look at that panel in your own car, you'll see four square holes in a rectangle. These are where the plastic nuts/grommets sit and then the mount bolts go through from below. If you want to stop by some time I can show you..

The problem with my Alpina car is that the front spoiler is not original, and doesn't clear the fog light itself correctly, so it's pushing the fog light back out of alignment. The plan is to buy a real Alpina spoiler this fall once I get the interior done.
