Can't say I have personally, but I have heard some pretty nasty stories before. Some people getting restained seats instead of recovered, seat backs missing, not all the levers working, etc.
I'm sure someone will chime in soon. I had mine recovered with Autoberry covers and done by a professional shop. Front seats were about $1,200 alone but came out like brand new.

I went thru leatherseats.com and had covers made 750 for vinyl or 950 for leather, local shops will charge about 500 to install, so you can make out for about the same price. Quality is awesome too!
I have all mine done locally by Beaverton Auto Upholstery. They redid the Alpina's, and are doing my buddies Hartge's, and his vert's Recaro's. They also did a certain E9 that is seen around the Cars & Coffee scene.
Supplying the cloth and it was about $1600 for both front and rear.

Beaverton auto I have heard stuff about good stuff.
That guy on CL , I have heard horror stories about, him.
I deal with many MANY interior clients and 2 used that guy on CL but in California , and yea it was used seats that were died and parts like levers missing etc
...I do not know the guy, but it appears he would allow you to trade-in your old seats and simply get the ones has has already upholstered.
According to his ad, it appears you should be able to walk in with your old seats and cash, and leave with your new seats on hand (provided they pass your scrutiny).

This is my vert interior ordered from leatherseats.com. This is the leather kit that was just under $1000 shipped. You have to pull the old covers off and install these.
$645 shipped and they threw in the extra rear headrest for free.
Installation tools were about $45 total.
It was the most economical from the previously mentioned websites plus they were all leather. They have a dark red that's closest to cardinal red but I wanted something brighter. They're definitely not as bright as they look in the photos but those were just some quick photos I snapped right as I finished the fronts.
I still need to redo the rear back but I'm overall satisfied with how they came out. I'll try and take better pics later this week.
Damn that's impressive! How long did it take them to fulfill the order? Does the leather seem to be good quality?

Took about 3 weeks like the rest who also ordered from them. Don't even bother calling, it goes straight to voicemail and they hardly reply to emails. I was nervous at first but everything worked out in the end.
Leather looks, feels, and smells good. Day and night over the vinyl seats I had before.
