Powder coating in the PNW

I picked up a spare valve cover and would like to get it coated. Nothing fancy, just black. Does anyone have any recommendations for getting it coated?

Jon Byron Lindsey (can find him on FaceBook) did mine. His powder coating shop is just outside of Olympia. He did incredible work, especially for the price.

I had some BBS RS parts refinished by a shop, "Blakley Powder Coating", located in Clackamas. They did a nice job and the turnaround time was quick.

How much did they run? I've got an M20 Hartge valce cover I need re-coated.

I did buy a gun, but don't have the oven.

Or a booth.

Good question. I have access to a blaster booth and plenty of media for cleaning parts up. Probably just going to rattle can the valve cover after blasting it.

Just be careful the media you use. One of the guys I raced with had his valve cover bead blasted, and 5 years later, still picking glass beads out the oil filter. Never have glass beads near anything that can be exposed to the inside of an engine.

Good point. I'm using glass media. From what I hear its best to tape off the inside of the cover and stuff a rag into the oil filler hole to keep the media out.
