I wish I could've gotten my car fully ready for the picnic, but you will see me driving around with no rear bumper, heh and a couple more misc. missing panels. at least what I have under the hood still counts for something :).

what time are you guys planning on showing up for the picnic?

I posted this in the cali thread, but i'll put in here too. My mom lives about 5 minutes away from the picnic in Bellevue and I'd be happy to let anyone come and hang for a bit before the picnic. I know people come from far away, so if a car wash is needed before hand or something like that, that would be fine. It's a town house, so could probably only fit 3-4 cars.

i saw one at bellevue bmw a while back, might have been the same one, but the welding job was HORRIBLE it was all bubbly and starting to rust

How long does it go until?

I might be able to make it, but I have my departmental graduation ceremony from around 10-12.

I don't think I've been able to make it since this picture (2004?):

I'm the black car in front

                        Luke, got the RSVP, thanks!

The Black Diamond tour is a simple 30+ mile tour after the Picnic that takes about an hour and ends up near Black Diamond, near Auburn and Hwy 18. About 35 E30s went on it last year. We'll do the same route again. A lot of the Portland crew will do it as it is on their way home. The tour is not a high speed run, but a nice tour along winding roads where people can take pictures of a long long train of E30s in a row.

Alright Lance, I think it's time...

The picnic is 2 weeks away, so which car is on the t-shirts this year? :D

                              Comment

                                OK, I'll bite.

This year's M Team shirt features the E30 M3 that won the 1992 Spa 24 Hour race. This was a classis race, with 2 BMWs leading the field with 20 minutes to go in the race. Incredibly, the winning #5 Bastos car passed the leading #3 FINA car on the next to last lap! You rarely see that kind of pass for the lead so late in a 24-hour event.

Shirts will be for sale at the E30 Picnic. Each E30 owner at the Picnic will receive for free a DVD of the actual 1992 race. It is a 2-hour review of the race I sourced from German Ebay. It's a great recording, showing full highlights of the race, including the last incredible 20 minutes. The DVD also has features on the Team Schnitzer motorsport shop and a tour of the cockpit of an E30 M3 race car.

And a couple of screen shots of the DVD:
