    Washington VIN Inspection

Anyone been through a WA VIN Inspection? I am trying to get a salvaged vehicle titled and was curious how in depth they go and how stringent they are with documentation - can anyone shed some light on this?

they check all vins on doors, fenders, trunk lids, fire wall, sometimes the motor. they need to see a bill of sale/title for any mismatched parts and also for the car you are titling. thats at least down here in da couv.

I am in a situation where I bought the car out of a junkyard with no real body damage but it had been hit and repaired many many years earlier according to the CarFax. Anyway the drivers side rear quarter, doorjamb and door had been replaced and have no VIN Numbers present...is this going to be a problem?
Also the engine VIN is from a '94 318is...I wonder how difficult that is going to get? Any thoughts, smonkbmw?

eeesh. i dunno on that one. they might MIGHT question the lack of vins on the doors. most likely not so much on the motor. i replaced the door on my wifes eta and they questioned me about the mismatched vin and i had to show them the title from the car it came off of.
