So anyone have some mechanic reccomendations in my area?

My car has had a vibrating issue for a LONG time now and it seems to get worse with the wet weather. The shaking starts around 2500 rpms through each gear. I'm fearing it may end up being a trans issue?

Already ran through the usual list of probs... wheel bearings, drive shaft replaced, quibo, swapped wheels and tires to see if it was a bent wheel or something......

It shudders so violently I freaks me out to drive it much until it's fixed. I live between Everett/Mukilteo.

Anyone have any shop recommendations in my area??? Help a girl out!

Is it a thumping noise? Could be a CV axle

Yeah.. the noise is like a droning sound that gets louder with acceleration. We changed the rear wheel bearings cause I couldve sworn my VWs drove just the same on worn out ones... but nope.

I'll look into the CV axle though. I'll ask my dad if he can take a peek, I've left the car there until it's all figured out. Blahhhh. Damn bimmers

              Is it AT or manual?
Did you have a chance to look the CSB?
Or, less likely but i wonder if the driveline is out of balance ( was disconnected before)?
I assume you have Bentley, it's a really nice manual book.

I would also wholeheartedly recommend M-Cars in Seattle. Jason is awesome, their prices are the cheapest I found and they have a 20 year BMW master tech doing the work. Can't go wrong. They take the time to do the job right...they do an extended test drive afterwards and they won't try to tack on any extra work. Honest, fast and cheap. Call them.

                    Lylefk- thanks. Will do. :)

Drift- Yeah I've got the Bentley and the car is a manual. When they put the new drive line in my dad checked the center support bearing and it's was good, guibo wasn't all that bad but was replaced anyways.

Im not sure on the motor mounts.. I'll ask my dad on that one

I wonder if the driveline got separated ( front & rear section) then got reconnected = out of balance?

Hope you can DIY it, save some dough for other upgrade :)

I've read about that happening, but It drove very well for months after the engine transplant. Then it started with a small vibration and progressed to a very very bad one over time. I'm really itching to drive it again though! :(

Oh, and all the motor/tranny mounts were replaced during the swap.

Yeah, M-Cars is a great place. I used to work with Bruce, the 20yr tech in question. He's thorough and reasonable.

If you are down in the Redmond area tomorrow I could give it a listen, or I may be down at the shop on Saturday making Mudflaps for my car... haha

Luke.... my mom hasn't been by in a couple weeks, last time she came down our dirty floors broke her vacuum! And Eric brought his Touring back by for his Fresh Differential... but mainly because he completely destroyed the Flex disc and CSB. He loves the stereo by the way!

Christian.... I think I read over on BMW puget sound you were having some cooling system problems.... give me a call and we can talk!
