Working my schedule around to make it down for this :)
I can tell you've put on a car show or two ....
FYI: The entry fee goes to the cost of putting on the event: facility rental, insurance, staff, trophies etc etc. It's amazing how quickly it all adds up.
They are teaming up with a food bank asking for donations. This doesn't benefit the organizers of the show, only the less fortunate.Chris

I understand how it works. Lance puts on the picnic for far less. The difference is he does it for the love of the cars/people not the love of money. These guys are making money and that is fine. I'm not a car show guy. I go to a few meets a year for the people. The food comment was a joke. If they want to give back let them give back some of that entry fee. :pCustom Made Skid Plates For Sale.

Unfortunately you don't understand how it works. It's not even the same situation.
For the E30 picnic there isn't a facility rental, the $7 entry fee goes as a donation to charity instead of rental fees for the parking lot at the owner's request. Insurance is covered by the BMWCCA, there are no staff or trophies etc that add to the event costs.
To simply put it, nothing is out of the ordinary for this show. Let them carry on promoting the event without criticism. If you don't want to attend, don't.Chris

For what it's worth, I don't make money at these shows, I typically pay out of pocket to ensure the show is the best it can be. I've been doing these for a few years and haven't made any money off of them yet. This is most definitely for the love. To be totally honest, I'm a bit bummed that the reception to this show has been so cold. This has typically been a VW show that has done very well with just VW but after talking to BMW people I was told you did not have a lot of shows to participate in. I'm not making a BMW class to make a buck off you guys, I'm making a BMW class so you have another show to participate in.Comment
