I happen to like the M42.

Swaps are hot though if done with the right chassis and right engine.

I liked mine a ton until the #2 rod bearing ended up exploding from being 1/2 quart low and making high rpm tight corners. Took the crank w/ it and rod. Even an m50 is night and day difference I thought.

Mine had 140k when it happened. Was on a bmw drive around lake Cda.
