Had a great time today! Got to meet a lot of excellent people! Despite a few breakdowns and one unfortunate accident... it was pretty awesome having a whole line of BMWs flying through the mountains! I even pulled 24mpg for the day! We had so much fun... the local authorities wanted in on the action too!

Had a blast guys. Next time I'll stay longer and be able to hang out more.

Zaun & Jaxx its was great meeting you guys. Driving was a blast I just wish I had a better car to do it in of course it just wouldn't feel right if I wasn't driving a car that didn't produce noxious fumes.

I made it in and just took the looooonnnngest shower of my life.... Traffic wasn't too awful bad for a change...

Wifey just ordered bacon cheeseburger pizza for supper... I see a full tummy and a snooze coming on shortly !!!.

So everyone... can we do weekend BEFORE Halloween? Pretty please? There is a damn wedding that weekend in Texas(Halloween weekend). I don't wanna miss a camping trip!

I want to go in August and October. Sadly I didn't get to see a lot of you guys, but I'll make it up.

I think August is just too damn hot. We tried it one year and it was brutal. Just brutal. Already at 85 degrees overnight and it was a sweat lodge... I can't imagine august. Unless we go up higher... like a LOT higher I don't think it would be good.

Steves and Mike said that Balsam was fairly cool last year.

I can't comment... didn't make that one. If it is cool I will go. Bad news if it is 90+ and really humid is bad.

Web says 15-20 degrees cooler at Balsam Mountain...

Highs there were barely 70 in the daytime.. Nights were about mid 40s.... Mid 90s down in Cherokee and Maggie Valley the 2 closest towns...

It is a wonderful place to be in August !


And yes Art.... You need to have more time at the next event....

I am down for that... I am fine if I am awake and it is hot. I HATE sleeping in the dead heat. I don't think anyone is excited for that. How much further into the woods is balsam?
