Bamavarian Motor Werkz Presents: European Blend - Group Drive and Meet

WHAT: A group drive for all European cars!
WHERE: Meeting at Home Depot (behind Walmart) in Pell City, AL.
WHEN: May 26, 2012. Meeting up at 2:30 p.m. meeting and roll-out is at 3:00 p.m.!
WHO: All European drivers!
WHY: Do you have to ask?

"What's with the name?" you ask.

This drive will not be held exclusively for BMWs. Branching out to the other European brands was suggested by someone not active on the forums, but active in the community, so there lies a good chance we'll have some Porsches, and even Volvos making appearances!

This will be a nice drive on our regular route through some fun, twisty roads and be topped off with a showcase of our rides and give forum members an opportunity to meet or catch up.

Our drive will start at Home Depot in Pell City and be approximately 50 miles of winding, twisting roads before ending up at Fox & Hound, a great little restaurant. Highway 25 is a blast to drive for those who have never done it. It's a nice little climb and a great descent with one great hairpin turn. (I do not recommend high speeds through this road for a variety of reasons, but to each his/her own. That's not to say I haven't done it before... :4ngie

We will be on Highway 78 for a short amount of time, turning onto Rex Lake Road (which is home to the Barber's Motorsports Park and Bass Pro Shops). We will encounter one stop sign(unfortunately) on this road, where it then turns into Sicard Hollow Road. Sicard Hollow will then run into Blue Lake Drive which turns into Colonnade Parkway, where the restaurant is.

You can see the route here (created on Google Maps).

The drive itself will take a little over an hour, but it goes by quickly!

After the meet, an optional drive will be hosted (by me) to go see downtown Homewood from an eagle's eye view. We will have a couple opportunities to stop and take pictures if you would like. This will be a major uphill climb with some hard turns, so high speeds are strongly discouraged. A map of the second drive can be found here (created on Google Maps).

Please try to confirm whether or not you will be attending the drive as soon as you can! If you cannot make the drive but can make the meet and "show", please let me know.

If you have any questions, suggestions for a route change, comments, or just want to say hi, feel free to speak up or PM me.

Pictures from our last meet (thank you Raymond for the awesome photography!):
