Sc: Need a knowledgeable turbo e30 mechanic in upstate south carolina

    Hey guys,

So I purchased a 1988 325is about a month ago and have been battling one issue after another in efforts to get the car where it needs to be.

    Here's the list of modifications

    MLS head gasket
    ARP head studs
t3/t4 .50 trim turbo (if I have my sources correct)
on 15 lbs of wastegate regulated boost
    Megasquirt V3.57 PCM.
    Walbro 277 fuel pump

The car is running super rich, and I'm aware of that, but it still started and ran great; I left it at a shop to have a new CSB installed and rear main seal while I was out west for a week, but now I'm having gas leakage problems, may be weather related or may not.

Regardless, I've had quite a few E30's and quite a few turbo charged cars, but never a turbo charged E30.

Any insight will be appreciated; I'm at a point where I don't have time to tinker on the car myself (as I'm swamped with work).
I can supplement the help with cash, beer, food, car parts, you name it.

Here's a picture of the car itself.

For those willing, my number is 864-373-1015.

ALSO OPEN TO SELLING, But would rather just get the car where it needs to be and keep it.

Greenville NICE! Unfortunately sounds like I'm in the same boat as you- Owned a few e30's and turbo'd cars but never an M20 turbo'd.

What's up with all that gunk on the intake mani vac line? As you know, that should hook up to the fuel rail pressure regulator that looks disconnected. I wonder if that has something to do with your leaky gas/mpg issue.

Not sure if you're a member, but i'd join the UECC (Upstate Euro Car Club) on facebook and post in there, there are a few knowledgeable e30 gear heads that are local.

the FPR is disconnected because the car will not run well with the stock fuel pressure. So I am aware that I need an aftermarket FPR.

Start issue has been fixed (had a ruptured fuel line), new coil pack and spark plugs and she starts right up.

Having an odd back fire now, but not as bad as it was.

With regards to UECC, I was a member with them before anyone in the upstate even knew what UECC was  lol when it first came to be over 2 years ago; I've known Eric, John, Wyatt, and Matt for quite some time. I do appreciate the group promotion though.

I don't claim to be very smart but if you don't have the fuel pressure regulator hooked up, for whatever reason, you should get the problem fixed and get it hooked up.
If the car is backfiring under acceleration its probably because the fuel pressure is not staying at 2.5 bar. With MS and a proper fuel pump there is no reason to have more than the factory fuel pressure.

I work in Greer, I drive a blue/purple e30 with m30b34 turbo swap daily so if you need some help checking it over let me know.
