WOOHOOO!!! celebration time !!-- after purchasing my car in April '05, i was finally able to get it started & drive it around the block today !!! I AM STOKED !! gotta thank u guys .. !!! certainly the relays needed to be changed -- (to 'i' relays and not the "e" ones) .. i guess it was the tunnel drive thru that did it for me !!!

thanks TJ.. i actually had a big scare -- i was just using the relays that came with the ETA motor, when we tried them on Billy's car and it didn't start, i thought i jus had to replace them with the part #..
first off, i went to the dealer and showed the relay to the parts guy-- he said he didn't carry those anymore.. but then asked to cross reference the motor again, just by lookinmg at the relay he could tell that they were not for an 'I' motor..(how's that for experience). i then remembered that Billy's relays were yellow-- got the correct ones and slapped them in today

as i'm cranking, i see smoke streaming from my relay box !!! AHHH!! FIRE FIRE!! not quite, on the short silver relay, one wire smoked itself and burned off all its insulation. HELL NO !! i tried cranking again --MORE SMoKE!! i tired tracing the wire but the color diappeared into the harness-- i dragged my old & spare harnesses out -- nothin.. i did notice that the fuel pump was kickin on though.. SNIP.. i cut the stupid burnt ass wire -- then i cranked and IT GAVE A SIGN OF LIFE !!! sprayed some starting fluid into the intake tract, VROOOM !!! (the wire supposed to be linked to the harness for automatinc tranny, i didn't need it --- as tried to idle, it beat up for a few moments, then started settling in to a consistent idle !!! MAN I WAS SOOO HAPPY !!! as excited as i was.. with no driver's seat (i sat on a box ) and witha dying battery & super soft brakes, i set off around my street (dead end in farm area).. car was loud a f*ck (open IE shorty's) so i couldn't get more than 3000 rpm, plus hardly any brakes, and the clutch needs a break in ..
YAAYY !! i'm soo happy... no grinds on the tranny, no leaks anywhere
