Must Start Giant Central FL Meet

OK it's time I have some more E30/BMW action in my life. Cruising with VW guys all week isn't cutting it anymore. Now I KNOW there are some sick E30s in South FL and there are a few in Central FL, I think we should have a big weekend meet. I remember going to Summerblaze a few years back and had a lot of fun. Ever since then i've been the "outcast" at the local VW shows. I vote some time in Spring. Ideas?

hmmm! , I think we should go to detail fest in Stuart next year February 08' I believe! , I would not mind having a meet at an earlier date espically if I could see some nice swapped e30s. Check out www.cfbmw.org for Central Florida bmw is mostly e46s and e36 ,but everybodys pretty cool.

Dammit Erick! I just left the area. I actually live about twenty minutes from Downtown St. Pete down in Bradenton. How long will you be up there?

why dont we do like a sebring event. that seems central enough for the SFL and Central guys, e28 guys camp out for the historical races.

I am looking into doing just that, a big E30 and older meet in central FL. Had hoped to get it going before April this year but not enough time.

My working plan is to have a meet on a Saturday, overnight and early cruise Sunday. I have contacted hotels for group rates and have been speaking to vendors and shops.

The bigger the event the more likely we will suceed. I intend to get 50 BMWs from E30 and older.

The time of year will be when it is cooler outside. Summerblaze was fun but TOO DAMN HOT!

At this time I have no firm dates or locations but have been looking at several dates and venues. One of which is a private airport. I want to make this a free non-entry fee event. That does put restictions on who, what , where and when.

If you would like to be put on the list of potentially interested attendees you can pm.

Also, I would like to get input on what you would like to see as part of a big meet. Throw the ideas out there. I want to include swap meet and detail shop.

E30s and older would be the worst idea ever. But I like your enthusiasm.

I disagree completely. There are plenty of older BMWs out there. I am more concerned about limiting it to just 50 cars. At this point I have 20 such types in Orlando alone.

For example, the 8 series club meets every year and they are growing. All they show are the 8's.

I'll keep you posted if you are interested in future dates.

this will help some of you guys and possibly a great place to have a meet. Brad, is one of the owners of 1552design. Anyone with a VW Audi background knows these guys were the shit and way ahead of their times. Well they opened back up after taking a break and lone and behold they are into the E30 body now and working on custom parts for all BMWs. The shop once held a car show that was called Winter Treffen. They would bring cars as many as 500 for their shows.

Well long story short, Brad wants to fire it back up like that again. Either all Euro, or split VW - BMW to different dates. Great bunch of guys and a great platform to hold a nice size event in Central FL. Id drive for this one!

Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs!
