its not like a muffler costs a lot. I don't think you realize how loud/rapsy/complete shit straight piped will be. A glasspack is ~20 and most of those cheap ebay mufflers are pretty good. Do it right man!

how would a straight pipe w/ no cats back to a glasspack, or dynomax super turbo sound?

and what could i expect to pay to have it welded on saying i bought the muffler myself?

just one muffler is going to be pretty loud. I have a glasspack where the cats used to be and a cannon on the rear and its pretty loud. But it sounds good because its behind 24v's. The closer the muffler is to the motor, the better job its going to do.

And even in NC that doesn't have the sniffer test on <95's you are still going to have a hard time finding someone to make you an exhaust w/out a cat. OR modifying an exhaust system that is catless. You either need to do it yourself or become friends w/ someone that has a welder ;)

A straight pipe M42 is going to 1. sound like shit, 2. run like shit. M42's like back pressure.

                        1 yes 2 no

M42's like all motors don't need backpressure. But lets not start that debate.

Honestly I would stick w/ the m42 over the m20. The m20 sounds better and has more tq, but the 325 doesn't feel the same as a 318. I have a 318is that I put a m50 into. I love it but there are times when I miss the feel of the 318is.
