    Orders to San Antonio, TX

So I just got my orders to San Antonio, should be there in April 2013. I'm looking at places on the north side of town. Any recommendations? From the looks of it I'll have to roll up to Austin (for many reasons) and any E30 meets...

How many of you are actually in SA?

It's no Cali, but you'll find some euro love.

I live on the NW side of town. What base are you stationed at while here? Lackland AFB is about 10-15 from my house. Randolph AFB and Ft Sam Army bases are across town from me. NW side is pretty quiet with some nice houses that wont break the bank. North side gets a little spendy. NE side has it's nice areas as well as the ghettos. Southside, yeah.........

Lackland AFB. I was looking at an apt in stone oaks (north side) but I really wanna have something with a yard and a garage; the closer to Austin, the better 8)

          Are you in the military?

No, not military. Stone oak is ridiculously busy with traffic. It is a nice area, but not worth the congestion for me. You might try Schertz if you are willing to commute about 45mins to an hour to Lackland. There are some nice homes over there that aren't as stupid expensive as Stone Oak. I used to work over by Schertz and my daily commute one way was about 45 mins to an hour, depending on traffic on Loop 410.
